  1. Channel 29 has done a great job covering the scandals and school closings etc. I agree this is going to be worse than Boston but I am glad the truth is being known. God bless all the survivors and good people that are working for change including Kathy , Susan and Maureen.

  2. Beth I agree that Fox 29 has been doing a great job covering – they were all over the story last February ,covered anything that came along in the months after and seem to be taking the lead on this again.

  3. I disagree! With good people still there. There are still some good people in the pews, who are so busy they don’t know what’s going on in their church and they see only” their role “in The good in the church…….

IF they “knew” what’s really going on, ,they would be “gone” in a split second! Priests, nuns and brothers should have left a long time ago, as they knew and “did nothing”. The really” aware people” have left it…… (the evil one who runs it, is so glad you stay!

    1. When churches were in ruin all over the landscape God told St. Francis to “rebuild my church”. He did not leave nor did Jesus he through the money changers out. In this case they will be sent to jail there are many “aware” catholics that are actively trying to change the laws in PA. Satan wants to destroy the church and although it will be in ruin we have his promise it will be renewed. We need conversion of hearts turning back to God thru adoration and reception of the eucharist and confession in order to follow the will of God and to defeat Satan.

  4. I agree about FOX29’s coverage. I appreciate that they haven’t taken the sensational route of their coverage and have avoided bashing. I was impressed by Dr. Butler’s report and I have to admit, felt a lump in my throat when she said this was going to be bigger than Boston. We’ve only seen the tip of the iceburg.

  5. I can’t bring up Dr Butlers remarks on my I pad…any chance I could get a written copy…they sound, from commenters, well worth knowing about!

  6. I don’t look at the local TV news too often but o nthe few occasions Ihave seen channel 29 I think they do a superior job compared to the other local news stations.I have listened agained to the Dr Butler interview, I think her comments are profound and very informative. I totally disagee with Ms Sullivan’s comments above with her rant about leaving – I believe in the truths of my Catholic faith and for that reason will not leave or turn my back but just like in today’s political world I will speak up and voice my concerns and opinions untill I see improvement. I was taught not to walk away from issues and problesm but to face them and try to resolve them to provide an improvement.

      1. Joe, I need to add a thought or two. Some of my closest friends decided to leave the Church, a decision I respect, some stayed and are doing what they can to help correct the mess. Another decision I respect. And a third decision that folks I know, have made is to leave but fight hierarchical intransigence. Another decision that I respect.

What I don’t appreciate is being told which decision I, or anyone else should make.

Decisions of this sort are incredibly personal and I am trusting that they are the right decision for that person.

  8. Usually I dislike FOX TV b/c it tends to take an extremely conservative ideology toward much of the news. Yet, this morning anchor team (6AM to 10, I believe) gets down and dirty regarding the REALITY and the TRUTH of this abuse travesty. I support them for their honesty and courage in reporting the truth, no matter how painful or discouraging it may be.

    1. you are getting fnc (fair and balanced-the most highly rated each time for many years-more watch than the others combined-watched cable news-some say conservative-which is wrong since they have left leaning hosts on some programs-they are not the local fox 29 news, altho’ owned by the well acclaimed RM
