Award-Winning Show Returns Home During Child Abuse Prevention Month to Support House Bill 464

Join C4C founders Kathy Kane and Susan Matthews for “Unreconciled,” a thoroughly entertaining and critically acclaimed one-man show, as it returns to its local roots on April 15th.

Actor, co-writer, and clergy sex abuse survivor Jay Sefton takes audiences back to eighth-grade at Annunciation B.V.M. in Havertown, PA. The true story reveals how landing the coveted role of Jesus in the Passion Play turns tragic under the direction of an abusive priest.

The National Catholic Reporter describes the show as “a journey through parental love, community, faith, and the long road to reclaiming one’s voice — with humor and humanity woven into every scene. Sefton portrays more than a dozen characters, including his late father, a neighborhood gossip queen, church attorneys, and a taunting classmate, switching personas with the kind of ease that critics have called “simply extraordinary artistry” and “masterful… lightning in a bottle on stage.”

This hometown tour in Pennsylvania supports Representative Nate Davidson’s House Bill 464. This bill seeks to reform the statute of limitations, allowing survivors to pursue justice in court.

Representatives from the Delaware County Victims Assistance Center will offer on-site support to survivors and their families.

Each performance will be followed by a post-show discussion featuring notable guests. On Saturday, April 18, actor, survivor, and advocate Anthony Edwards—recognized for his roles in “Top Gun” and “ER”—will take part in the discussion. Then, on Sunday, April 19, attorney and former Olympic gymnast Sarah Klein, who is known as the first identified victim of Larry Nassar, will join as a guest.

The Havertown run of “Unreconciled” takes place at J.D. McGillicuddy’s, just steps from where Sefton’s story unfolded. Tickets are limited, so reserve your seat today.
