The Federal authorities have announced new evidence of more crimes committed by Father Mark Haynes. The new evidence includes destroying a laptop (which was evidence) and, far worse, allegations of sexual abuse of at least three children. The abuse accusations fall outside the statute of limitations (SOL). Therefore, charges can not be pressed. This is another example of why PA needs to catch up with all the other states who have abolished the SOL for child sex abuse and have enacted a retroactive window for past victims to come forward. It turns out the Archdiocese had a very good reason to remove Father Kolenkiewicz – possible child porn. Perhaps he accidentally downloaded a dozen of those alleged images while in a feeding frenzy of adult porn (over 12,000 images in 2005 alone and more in 2011). Who knows? What we do know is that maybe the priesthood isn’t for him.

Transparency? Accountability? And, Chaput states that: “Confusion is of the devil.”
Now here’s a fact that holds no confusion:
Archbishop Chaput is the official, defacto Roman Catholic Church host of the World Congress of Families here in Philadelphia in September 2015 and this is the same Archbishop Chaput, while as the spiritual leader of Denver Catholics, supported the local pastor’s decision to block the enrollment of Catholic parish elementary school children because their parents were lesbians.
Certainly a proud moment in USA RCC history…………diocesan leader blocking young children’s access to a Catholic education and the accompanying religious education where their young minds, hearts, souls and spirits would be able to learn about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Will this wonderful moment/decision by Philadelphia’s spiritual host and leader be an agenda item at the upcoming World Congress of Families?

Wow….Nothing has changed since I posted here 10 months ago… Chaput continues to press his moral conservative teachings, though not a publicly since the Pope ran a few of his cronies out of jobs, on the parishioners aka Pew Sheep and staff of Philadelphia. The “bad apples” continue to be found even after Lynn and his merry men did such a great job hiding them. We all complain about the NSA and Big Brother well at least the government cares about the kids as the church sure as hell does not. So too all the Pew Sheep who come here to complain and or read what is truly going on behind closed doors make sure you show up on Sunday’s, write your check and pray another child’s life will not be destroyed by an institution you support. Am I missing something here?
There should be an angry crowd outside of ‘ron marsico’s office’ demanding that the SOL / Survivor Window be addressed, how much longer will PA politicians like marsico protect these monsters ?
These stories are very difficult to read. I hope these men face justice. But my biggest hope is that the victims get the help that they deserve and need to deal with this atrocity committed against them by a man of God. If there are any other victims out there of these men or others, please come forward .It is extremely difficult thing to do. I know that from personal experience. But you can only heal from this by taking the first step. Contact the police, a crisis center or somebody you can talk to .Do not go to the Catholic Church. Healing is possible, but you cannot do it alone..
Is there just one good and healthy diocese on the continent that could replace Philadelphia in hosting the World Congress of Families which, by the way, has yet to radiate anything good or healthy, itself?
Nothing is right! It’s all one big Catholic Church/clerical atrocity.
But have you received the request for donations from the management/administration of the World Congress of Families in your mailbox? It comes with pastel colored donation envelopes for the individual to mail back to the World Congress as September draws near.
Sorry, but I just can’t get past the irony, hypocrisy and incongruity of these two facts:
(1) Archbishop Chaput is the defacto host of the World Congress of Families as the spiritual leader of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
(2) As the spiritual leader of the Denver archdiocese several years ago, he supported, backed, and agreed with the pastor’s decision to block the enrollment of young children to the local Catholic parish elementary school because the parents were lesbians.
If, in fact, Archbishop Chaput is comfortable, confident and at ease with his Denver decision to block young children’s access to the Catholic faith due to the parents’ life choices, and we have no reason to suspect that he would not act in the same manner here in Philadelphia, is it appropriate that he be the spiritual leader of an event that will host and welcome citizens, adults and children, from a variety of ethnic, religious and national backgrounds to an event that is concerned with the world’s families? How do we know that he will not exercise the same prerogative to block, exclude or deny access to faithful individuals who wish to participate in the conferences and meetings at the World Congress of Families based on their life situation and choices?
When in September is the Pope coming? That would be a good week to go to Rome and see the Vacant. Wonderful art work…
I was reading The Big Trial site about the current Fr Andrew McCormick trial ( retrial sexual assault) and some of the defense witnesses were people who had taken trips with McCormick to Poland
When you google Fr Kolenkieweicz name one of the google hits is from a parish bulletin advertising a Pilgrimage to Poland and Fr K’s co host on the trip is none other than Fr McCormick.

It is a small world and even smaller Archdiocese.
Kathy, as you know there is so much the hasn’t come out. Cases are sealed as well as records. If people follow the news sources they can find articles(searching the achieves) not available except for a fee that are a trove of information . I still remember the argument about drinking and getting AA or Alnon in a school. Some people feel drinking at a young age is acceptable even at a(my) relatives Polish wedding. Except from listening to young vets since WWII, I’ve heard of dead drunk kids (21 was a minor at that time) after battle and being massed raped in the barracks,, but not 8th grade kids massed raped. Most of the priests groom their victims so what is the point of parading witnesses from trips? Know many who went to a certain camp not all were abused. Remember discussing with a family member and others the danger of accepting a drink from a priest
Getting older and still looking for that article about the priest referenced in the SNAP achieves that affected so many I knew from Judge. He along with Hermley(sp) and then he along with a few other priests did so much damage and no one listen to the parents. Actually they were transferred so the parents thought the RCC was keeping our kids safe. As I wrote before I can still remember the nuns complaining they couldn’t control Hermley(sp) and at that point I was able to get names but again no witness.
Also remember Fr. Doyle making sure the theology students were not at a gay bar. These groups were not accepted by the gay community, as they tend to look for young victims – around 14 yrs old. They did remind me that they had intentions, that thank God none of them decided to get ordain.. Still too many did get through and the ones my family and I know were some of the worse both religious congregation and AOP.

I think the more concerning thing with all of this is the fact that Haynes was initially released on bail back in October 2014 without any kind of court mandated supervision even when he ADMITTED to possession and dissemination of child pornography. ADMITTED to it!! He clearly admitted to 2 counts possession and dissemination because thats all they had him on at that time. I understand that a person is presumed “innocent until proven guilty” but he admitted to everything that they initially had him on, so hes guilty but not yet officially. Something has to change here people.
He manipulated police into thinking that he was cooperative by handing over “all” of his electronic devices. Did the police just believe Haynes turned over everything? Did they do an accurate and thorough search? Clearly not because they missed this other Mac laptop.
Usually when someone admits to doing something smaller, and are very helpful and forthcoming in the investigation, they are doing so to mask the fact that they are guilty of much much more. As was the case here. The motherload was on Mac and he knew it. That’s why he turned over the other laptop. Why would the police ever think he would have two laptops?
So bail was $200,000 and his lawyer brother from NJ posted 10%, $20,000. The address that the court had on file was in Egg Harbor, NJ. But why is he living in Horsham, Pa:
-less than 2 miles from Hatboro Horsham High School,
-less than 1 mile from Keith Valley Middle School and
-less than a half mile from Hallowell Elementary School
Maybe notices should be sent to the schools surrounding where he last resided (Horsham, Pa) to ensure there are no additional hands on victims since 1st getting out on bail in October 2014.
